Claire Landis is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Lancaster County Conservancy and a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist. As the coordinator, she maintains a spreadsheet of volunteers and distributes information about volunteer opportunities as requested by the Conservancy staff. This position was created in August 2013 as her service project requirement for the PA Master Naturalist program. With input from Mike Burcin and Lydia Martin, she is developing an informative database for the staff and expanding interaction with the volunteers. Claire was also a committee member for the Fall 2014 BioBlitz at Climbers Run Nature Preserve and is currently the PA Master Naturalist Alumni Coordinator for the Lower Susquehanna Area.
Claire holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and has worked at General Motors, the power company BG&E, and PCC (a subcontractor for the Nuclear Navy in York, PA). She lives in East Hempfield with her husband, Bob, and they own and operate Landis Garage, a third generation family business. They have two adult children. She enjoys playing tennis, cooking, reading, and spending time with family and her dog Lenny, a Chinese Crested.
