Dear Lancaster Conservancy Friends,
The horrific death of George Floyd, brutally killed at the hands of police two weeks ago affects us all. We stand with those who denounce the violence, injustice and racism that puts the lives of black and brown people at risk.
This is a time for the Conservancy to delve internally and examine its own role in addressing the oppression of people of color. Listening and learning is a first step to awareness and action.
We commit to doing the work necessary to ensure that the Conservancy addresses any injustices in its own structure, mission, and engagement on our preserves, which are open to everyone. We are publicly sharing this commitment as a way to help hold us accountable in this work.
In solidarity,
Phil Wenger
