Welcome to the Lancaster Conservancy’s Nature Notes! This is a place where I will share updates, musings, and stories from the work we do every day of providing wild and forested lands and clean waterways for our community, forever. Join me here as we talk about issues driving the Conservancy towards our envisioned future and how you can be a part of this journey.
Each morning I wake, inspired by our intricate and complex world with so many amazing plants and animals. But I ask myself often… why don’t we do a better job of caring for it? We poison our homes and yards, we refuse to change our behaviors that destroy our water and air, we value wealth more than health, we are careless and selfish. So how do we cultivate a conservation ethic within our society?
This blog will be a place to explore these issues together. I look forward to sharing more with you, and to hearing from you as well, your thoughts on these issues and how we can move forward in a shared mission to Save Nature.
