Celebrating 50 Years of Earth Day
Dear Friends,
On this, the 50th anniversary of the first Earth Day and the founding year of Lancaster Conservancy, we honor the impulse that created both of these movements—the knowledge that humans have a profound and often destructive impact on Mother Earth and our responsibility as a community to rectify that harm.
The current crisis perfectly highlights that we need to act now. Our past efforts are not nearly enough to provide the open space our community needs, let alone the plants, animals and insects whose habitat development continues to destroy. In honor of this momentous anniversary, we are asking you to consider a $50 gift as a commitment to our shared responsibility to protect and restore nature for all.
Your gift will be doubled thanks to a generous donor inspired by these challenging times. With your help we can reach our goal of $30,000 to provide the necessary funds to continue our efforts to protect and restore our beautiful river glens and remnant forests.
Earth Day is a day that inspires action, and act we must before it is too late. Together we can defend and care for our earth and all the creatures who call this place home. Thank you for taking action by making a gift today.
With gratitude,
Phil Wenger, President
Lancaster Conservancy
P.S. Celebrate the earth that provides us with beautiful places to restore and heal our bodies, minds and sprits by giving a gift of $50 during the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day.
