WQVC

Water Quality Volunteer Coalition
WQVC is a citizen science group under the direction of Matt Koffroth at the Lancaster County Conservation District and Lydia Martin, Director of Education at Lancaster County Conservancy. Linda Ferich is the Coordinator with Mike King as the Assistant Coordinator; both are directly managed by Lydia. It takes real partnership to pull off such a large task and WQVC is a testament to the power of partnerships between Lancaster County Conservancy, Lancaster County Conservation District, Donegal Trout Unlimited and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. This group collects water samples from 20 different stream sites on the second Saturday of each month, meeting first at Climbers Run and then dispersing from there. Their work monitors and protects water conditions in the county for the benefit of people, fish and recreation.
